“Chào mừng đến với Việt Nam”

On February 13, 2025, the Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced that the fleet will now have a direct flight to Ho Chi Minh from Cebu. PAL also said starting May 2 that they will be offering three flights a week from Cebu to Vietnam and vice versa. Both Business Class and Economy Class will accommodate 199 passengers, and will be serviced with Airbus A321 Jetliner, a medium-range plane with a narrow body twin-engine jet.

The schedule of the flight of Ho Chi Minh from Mactan-Cebu International Airport will be every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Departure time from Cebu will be at 10:55 AM with an arrival time of 12:55 PM at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Return flights will be scheduled every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday with a departure time of 01:55 AM and will arrive at Cebu at 06:05 AM.

According to the PAL President and Chief Operating Officer, Captain Stanley K. Ng, “We are pleased to expand Philippine Airlines’ footprint in Vietnam, our next-door neighbor and fellow ASEAN member country, through our new service linking Ho Chi Minh City to Cebu for the very first time.” Additionally, “We are excited to invite Vietnamese tourists and business people to take the short hop to Cebu to discover the wonders of our islands and enjoy the warm hospitality of our people.”

Ho Chi Minh, also  known as Saigon, is the largest city in Vietnam and is considered the center of the economy of the country and of cultural significance.
