On April 24, 2025, President Marcos Jr. signed and approved the Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) for non-immigrant foreigners temporarily living in the Philippines for remote work.
Executive Order No. 86

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has authorized the Department of Foreign Affairs to issue DNVs to non-immigrant foreigners seeking to temporarily reside in the Philippines for remote work using digital technologies, as stated in the press release on April 26, 2025. The approved Executive Order promotes the DNV as a potential boost for tourism, job opportunities, and a pathway to making the Philippines a thriving hub for digital nomads.

Requirements for Digital Nomad Visas
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must show proof of remote work using digital technology
- Must show proof of sufficient income, which is generated outside the Philippines
- Must show proof of no criminal record
- Must have health insurance valid for the period of the DNV
- Must be a national of a country that offers DNVs to Filipinos and where the Philippines has a Foreign Service Post (FSP)
- Must not pose a threat to the internal or external security of the Philippines
- Must not be employed in the Philippines
