Set to be completed by the end of 2025, the SM Seaside Arena is making significant strides in its construction. Located within the expansive South Coast City, a joint development by SM Prime Holdings and Ayala Land, the arena is strategically positioned beside the iconic SM Seaside City Cebu mall. Its accessibility is further enhanced by its proximity to the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), ensuring smooth travel for both residents and visitors from Mactan.
Boasting a seating capacity of 16,000, the arena is designed to host a myriad of events, from international concerts and sporting events to large-scale conventions. Notably, it is slated to be a venue for the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League in 2026 and 2027, and there’s a proposal for it to host matches for the FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup in 2025.
SMX Convention Center Cebu
Adjacent to the arena, the SMX Convention Center Cebu is shaping up to be a cornerstone for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) in the region. This three-level facility will feature four expansive exhibition halls on the ground floor, complemented by smaller function rooms on the upper levels. With a total floor area of 52,000 square meters, it’s poised to accommodate events of varying scales, from trade fairs and expos to corporate gatherings and weddings.
A notable feature enhancing the connectivity between these two landmarks is the Sky Bridge, currently under construction. This bridge will seamlessly link the SM Seaside Arena, SMX Convention Center, and SM Seaside City Cebu mall, allowing attendees to move effortlessly between events, dining, and shopping experiences.
