The Davao Butterfly House serves as a sanctuary to these colorful and gentle winged-creatures. It’s located within the Crocodile Park Complex.

Aside from being a tourist spot, the Davao Butterfly House also serves as a breeding ground for butterflies in order to increase and preserve their population and in general, aid in balancing the ecosystem.

Gaze at different plants in full bloom, cultivated both by human caretakers, and with the help of the butterflies. You will also get to see the four stages of the beautiful transformation of butteflies -egg, larva, pupa, adult.

The place also serves as a fruit nursery so you can buy various fruits like dragon fruit, bananas, durian, lanzones, and many more! There are also caged tarantulas, scorpions, crickets, etc. for viewing.

The best time to visit the place is on mornings, when the sun shines and butterflies are seen busily flying around. Around noon time, they tend to take shelter in the shadows and rest which can also be the best time to take photos.

Other attractions in the Davao Butterfly House also include a playground, a souvenir shop, and a stall for refreshments for you and your group.

A single entrance ticket gives you access to 3 attractions: the Davao Butterfly House, Tribu K’Mindanawan, and the main attraction which is the Crocodile Park. They are all located next to each other so make sure to include this on your itinerary because you will be hitting 3 birds with one stone.
