This rural town is situated at the base of Kanlaon Volcano and is known for its natural springs, waterfalls, and other scenic spots. Like many towns in Negros Occidental, it is an agricultural town thriving with sugar cane, as well as rice and banana farms.

The town itself is bounded by many cities and municipalities, which explains why it is rarely visited or heard by people. On the north is La Carlota City, on the south are municipalities of Isabela and Moises Padilla, on the west are municipalities of Hinigaran and Pontevedra, and on its east is the provincial boundary between Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental.

Let’s explore more of this quiet and distant town and get to know the reasons why we should visit it.

Caduhada Spring Resort

Caduhada Spring Resort, or also known as Mambangon Spring Resort, is one of the most famous tourist spots in the town. It is greatly representative of the town with its pristine and refreshing waters. The freshness of the water in Caduhada Spring Resort definitely brings life into the body due to its clean and cool temperature. It also literally brings life to the town because it supplies water to the land and it is also a source of water to the people of the nearby barangay. Staying true to its name as Mambangon Spring Resort – coming from the root word bangon which means “to rise” – it is a source of life and livelihood.

Brgy. Puso River

The Brgy. Puso River is a famous trekking destination due to the facade of a majestic rock formation standing tall by the river banks. Combined with the luscious trees and plants growing by the outcrops of the rock and the thriving flora by the banks of the river, it creates a picture-perfect scenery that’s hard to find anywhere – a definite beauty in its rawest form. When the river isn’t raging and the currents are subtle, there are rafts that could take people to the other side of the river.
