A true testament that Bacolod is the next big city in the Philippines.
Bacolod is set to have a poised comeback with the opening of two large membership grocery stores — Landers Superstore and S&R — that are soon to open.
Landers Superstore will soon open in Bacolod City, a first in Western Visayas.
In partnership with Megaworld Corporation (a fourth to be hosted by Megaworld after Landers Alabang West, Arcovia City, and Uptown Bonifacio), this commercial anchor establishment is expected to draw thousands of people.
The new Landers Superstore will be directly connected to the soon-to-rise Upper East Mall via 30-meter Long Bridgeway. It will be located across Two Regis and Herald Parksuites – the latest residential condominiums in Upper East Township that is envisioned as Bacolod’s Newest Central Business District.
It features its own Caltex gas station; one thing Landers is renowned for. It can accommodate more than 300 vehicles with a permeable paver block for efficient rainwater retention. It supports sustainability with high bay LED lighting fixtures, energy-efficient air-conditioned units, rainwater collection system that allows harvesting of water.
Landers Superstore Bacolod is targeted to open by March 2023.
Another soon-to-rise is S&R which will rise soon at Bredco Port Reclamation in Bacolod City. It first announced its plans to open in July 2018 along with other new sites around the country.
Mayor Alfredo Benitez signed a contract with lease lot owner, So Ha Uy and S&R President Anthony Sy last September 30, 2022, at the Preska Restaurant in Barangay Estafania. The proposed building will occupy a road lot owned by the government.
This will generate a lot of job opportunities, with the soon-to-open Landers Superstore it can generate 500-600 jobs.
