Get ready for more tears as Popoy and Basha hits the Philippine stage again – in three months time!
The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) went live on social media during the last leg of their show. Netizens were abuzz, thinking that the organization will be showcasing the One More Chance, The Musical live and for free! But, turns out, they just streamed to announce their return in exactly three months! Following the announcement, the organization also posted on social media:
“This is your chance, 3 months only! PETA’s One More Chance, The Musical featuring the songs of Ben&Ben will be back for another season this August 23 – October 27, 2024! Ticket details are dropping very soon, follow us at @petatheater for the latest show updates! #PETAOneMoreChance.”
The New Popoy & Basha
Inspired by the hit Filipino trilogy, the story of the musical follows Popoy and Basha, a long- term couple who, during the show, will undergo challenges in their relationship. In the movie version, Popoy was played by John Lloyd Cruz while Bea Alonzo took the role of Basha.
Now, in this new generation, we have new faces who will play the iconic roles of John Lloyd and Bea. For Popoy, Sam Concepcion and CJ Navato will be taking the stage while for Basha, it will be Anna Luna and Nicole Omillo.
One More Chance, The Musical is a star-studded show and also it features the songs of Ben&Ben, one of the Philippines top folk-pop band who are known for their heart-wrenching and nostalgia-inducing musical pieces.
Tickets Will Be Announced On June 1
As of this writing, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) has yet to disclose ticket details, but they did share that it details will be posted on June 1.
