The Maasin Coastal Bypass Bridge project continues to push through.
This is according to a Facebook post from The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) official Facebook page on December 8, 2021.
The Maasin Coastal Bypass Bridge is just one of the planned infrastructures the DPWH eyes to develop in the next two to five years in the Eastern Visayas Region.
The said project is identified as one of the long-term projects of DPWH. The construction of the 1.1km iconic Maasin Coastal Bypass Bridge is still in discussion with the Export-Import Bank of Korea.
In DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado proposal during his visit and coordination meeting with officials from the National Economic and Development Authority-Region 8 in Tacloban City, Leyte for the regional developmental investment plan, he cited that the said project will be a priority because the construction of the new bridge will link Luzon to Mindanao passing through Visayas of Samar and Leyte.
The proposed four-lane new bridge will also ease the traffic in Liloan and San Ricardo town which consists of ports and ferries going to Surigao.
This will pave the way for economic growth in Eastern Visayas Region.
