Bohol’s Clarin Bridge is set to open in the first half of 2022.
The new two-lane Clarin Bridge will replace the old bridge, which was destroyed in the 2013 Bohol earthquake. It’s expected to improve the mobility of goods and people, as well as provide greater access to the province’s tourism sites.
Designed as a Nielsen Arch bridge spanning 104 meters with approach roads, the Clarin Bridge connects the Loboc River, a popular tourist destination that also provides an alternative route, to Bohol’s Billar manmade forest and tarsier and butterfly conservation areas.
The Clarin Bridge Replacement Project, worth ₱462 Million, is part of the Bohol Circumferential Road Contract Package 3 under the Department of Public Works and Highways’ Road Upgrading and Preservation Projects (RUPP), which is funded through a loan agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
One of the most visited destinations of domestic and international tourists, Bohol is famous for its white beaches, the Chocolate Hills, Tarsier Sanctuary, Man-made Forest, and many other natural attractions and tourist attractions.
