Representing the Philippines, three students from Dumaguete City are set to compete in a global robotics competition in China this October 22.

Dumagueteños Kenn Mark Drilon, Dreamerson Garay, and Camia Faye Duran from the Metro Dumaguete College (MDC) recently won gold in the Philippine National Skills Competition in Mobile Robotics and Floristry, held in TESDA Taguig City on December 13-16, 2021.

Aside from medals and certificates, the gold medal winners have also received P30,000 while Silver and Bronze medalists received P20,000 and P15,000 respectively.

The team will undergo a series of training and preparations to prepare them to compete in the upcoming 2022 World Skills Competition in Shanghai, China in October 2022.

Section 30 of the Republic Act 7796 (The TESDA Act of 1994) states that TESDA, with the active participation of private industries, shall organize annual skills Olympics to promote quality skills development in the country in view of participating in International Skills Competitions.
