What we all need in this time of crisis is a helping hand and not fighting against each other.
On Tuesday, Ormoc City Mayor Richard “Goma” Gomez expressed his willingness to help and support Cebu’s battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. Goma said Cebu is Ormoc’s ‘big brother’ in the Visayas.
Ormoc City has already sent ten PNP personnel to Cebu City and is willing to send medical staff if requested or needed.
“Cebu is our big brother in the Visayan region. If there is any help or support we can extend to Cebu in case they will ask for assistance diri sa ato, we are very open and willing to help them out.”

“As a matter of fact, we have sent out ten PNP personnel to help out sa operations nila. In the coming days, if they will need additional medical staff, we are willing to send.”
On June 22, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, a former military chief, to oversee the pandemic response in Cebu City as its COVID-19 cases breached the 4,400-mark.
As of June 24, 2020, Cebu City has a total of 4,539 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 2,242 recoveries and 100 deaths.
