PHILIPPINES, we’re at it again!
The Tourism Board of the Philippines shared on social media the great news about the country being nominated by the Wanderlust Travel Magazine, a UK company focused on recognizing travel-worthy places. The nomination is part of the 23rd Annual Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards 2024 which aims to spotlight the “Most Desirable” destinations, tour providers, and many more in the travel industry.
Cebu as the Most Desirable Region
Cebu is in the running for Most Desirable Region (Rest of the World). Best famed for its stunning beaches, energetic culture, and rich history, Cebu is truly one of the islands (not region, though) which offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. It has such varying attractions, from the beautiful white sands of Malapascua to the whale shark encounters in Oslob, the island makes it a must-visit place, according to the UK magazine. And now, with the addition of direct flights from almost anywhere around the Philippines, Cebu is becoming a hub for travelers and businessmen alike, combining the tourism and business industry to grow as one!
Palawan as the Most Desirable Island
Palawan is also vying for the title of Most Desirable Island (Rest of the World), especially for its crystal-clear waters, dramatic limestone cliffs, and beautiful biodiversity. The island’s seemingly untouched environment and breathtaking landscapes make it a top contender for the award. It is also one of the few islands left in the Philippines where a traveler can truly unplug from the modern connections since there are areas where cellular signal can be a tough thing to find; making it great for a social media cleanse in today’s generation.
