One of Leyte’s natural gems is the Hindang Cave located in the sleepy village of Hindang. Adventurers who make the trek to the cave are rewarded not only with rock formations but also with the rare opportunity to see wild monkeys that roam freely around the forested area. It’s a quick tour that combines caving and nature viewing.

Meet The Wild Monkeys

Along the trail to the cave, visitors are often accompanied by playful and curious monkeys. They’re known to curiously inspect visitors and try snatching snacks or glasses, so keeping your belongings secure photo ops with them are fun, but the caretakers suggest you don’t feed them.
Explore the Hindang Cave

The cave itself is modest in size but features dramatic limestone walls, stalactites, and cool interiors that offer a peaceful break from the tropical heat. It’s an easy cave to explore for beginners and offers a good intro to Leyte’s underground wonders.

A Quick Nature Escape

For those traveling to Leyte, Hindang Cave provides a brief but delightful natural experience. It’s the ideal detour for curious tourists while also offering peaceful views, forest trails, and wild monkeys.
