There’s a barangay in the town of Liloan, Southern Leyte that is slowly gaining so much attention due to its unique feature.
Calian is a barangay in the town of Liloan, Southern Leyte. And recently, this place has been the subject of many shares and likes on Facebook due to a popular floating cottage in the said locale.
Calian’s Floating Cottage is made up of sturdy bamboo and can accommodate 50 guests at a time. What makes it unique is that the cottage does not have a floor but instead, opens up directly into the clear blue-green water below.
At the center of the cottage is a long table that also acts as a bridge that connects the bamboo seats on either side. So while your families and friends are eating, you can go and dive right ahead at the center and still not miss all the interaction, food, and booze.
You can also rent a videoke and bring your own food. You also get to experience privacy because they only allow one group to book the entire cottage. Booking the cottage for a day already includes roundtrip boat transfers to and from the cottage.

HOW TO GET THERE?
Exact location: Barangay Calian, Liloan, Southern Leyte, Visayas
By van: If you are coming in from Ormoc City or Tacloban City, there are several van terminals that can take you to Liloan (Duptours, Grandtours, Van-Vans). Fare is around P200 and travel time is 3-4 hours. If you are coming in from Cebu City, you can book a Supercat or Oceanjet trip bound for Ormoc (Pier 1 of Cebu port). Upon arrival at Ormoc, you can also ride a van bound for Liloan.
By private car: You can also navigate through Waze or Google Maps. Just type in “Calian, Liloan, Southern Leyte” as your destination.
