The Philippines is abundant of beautiful waterfalls. In Cebu, there are the Kawasan Falls and the Budlaan Falls. In Leyte, there are the Tinago Falls and Masaba Falls. Palawan has Estrella Falls and Bigaho Falls. Everywhere you look and everywhere you go, you would most certainly find beautiful waterfalls around the area. This time, we are turning our heads at Pulacan Falls in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.
Pagadian was once known with an alias as the “Little Hong Kong of the South”. This is because of its landscape with steep hills plummeting into the sparkling coast. However, it really deserves to have its own title without the need to compare with other countries. Pagadian has many tourist spots, and all of them are beautiful. The Pulacan Falls is no exception.
Pulacan Falls covers about 400 square meters, which makes it a very large and magnificent work of nature. Water falls from its peak, diverging into several streams. It goes in different directions and cascades into different pools, imitating long white curtains. Instead of being a strong downstream of water like standard falls, Pulacan Falls differs in how the water trickles down. It is akin to a painting with gentle flowing waters through different terraces and pools.
The falls is surrounded by lush vegetation and trees, making you forget about the city life. Nature overpowers in here. The area has been designated to be a site for camps and jamborees because of how serene the environment is.
